History-1993 Norwich Emergency Squad Dissolved by University President Richard Schneider, USCG REAR ADMIRAL RET.
-1997 Norwich University Emergency Medical Society founded by Norwich University Cadets
-2005 the first Norwich University Emergency Medical Seal is created.
-2006 Norwich University Emergency Medical Services founded by Cadets Michael Kelley and Robert Fabich.
-2006-2007 Norwich University EMS Member, Cadet Tyler Michaud, earns the NU Corps of Cadets Life Saving Award.

NU EMS begins writing its new SOPs which will go on to make NU EMS the
primary care provider on the NU Campus under the direction of Cadet
Stephen Stokes and Adam Beck.
-2007 The first ever NU EMS patch is designed and approved for the NU EMS Uniform which is also redesigned.

The NU Corps of Cadets Medical Platoon is dissolved by the Commandant
of Cadets, Brig. Gen. Michael Kelley, VSM after the recommendation from
the NU EMS Officers.
-2008 NU EMS switches from its old command
structure using a Student EMS Chief, A Deputy Chief, a Captain, and
Admin Lieutenant and a Training/OPS Lieutenant to its current system of
a Student Captain and One Lieutenant to bring them in line with
University and NU EMS SOPs.
-2008 Norwich University Emergency Medical
Services cited for outstanding service to the Norwich University Corps
of Cadets during Rook Week 2008.
-2009 Members Mike Kelley, Marc
Truedson, James Young, Joy Palmer, Eric Fruendt, Craig Scheipers,
Tobias Farnsworth receive the Meritorious Service Award, the Corps of
Cadets' Highest Commendation when there is no risk to one's own life
for the Lifesaving Actions they performed during the Marine ROTC Spring
2009 Field Exercise.
-2009 Members Adam Weeks, Rachel Negri, and
James Young all respond to NUEMS first-ever MCI on the
NU campus when CO alarms went off inside Goodyear Hall in December.
Symptoms were reported and NUEMS had all the occupants of the building
moved to another barracks, sorted and ready for Northfield Ambulance to
arrive and treat the patients accordingly.
-2010 Members James Young and Rachel Negri are awarded the NUCC Meritorious Service award for their lifesaving actions during the 3RD Battalion Road March in November of 2009.

About NUEMS
NUEMS provides 24 hour a day, 7 day a week, emergency medical care while the university is in session for the fall and spring semesters. Equipped with Basic Life Support equipment, NUEMS provides medical stand-by details for Student Clubs, ROTC
Detachments and University organizations such as the Corps of Cadets.
NUEMS requests a donation for these services ($100) to help off sett the cost of medical equipment and training. NUEMS stand by is required at all
alcohol providing events on the University property unless waived by
the Commandant of Cadets/ Vice President for Student Affairs. If you
